    SETTING THE SCENE
    Indiana opens the 2007 season with the Indiana University Open on Saturday, Sept. 13, at the IU Championship Cross Country Course in Bloomington.

    The women's 5K race is slated to begin at 9:30 a.m. ET, while the men's 8K race is scheduled for 10 a.m. Each race is open to the public, however, Oakland City University will join the Hoosiers on the course.

    THE SCHEDULE
    Following the Indiana Open, the Hoosiers will host the annual Indiana Intercollegiates on Friday, Sept. 19 in Bloomington. The Intercollegiates race features teams from universities and colleges from all over the state of Indiana. Beginning at 3:30 p.m., there will be a women's 5K and a men's 8K open that will be a combined race. At 4:30 p.m., the women's 5K race is slated to begin, with the men's 8K race scheduled for a 5:15 p.m. start.

    IU will hit the road for the remainder of the season beginning with the historic Oklahoma State Cowboy Jamboree on Saturday, Oct. 4, in Stillwater. IU will then compete in the Pre-Nationals meet on Saturday, Oct. 18 in Terre Haute, Ind., before traveling to Ann Arbor on Sunday, Nov. 2 for the 2008 Big Ten Championships, hosted by the University of Michigan.

    Competition in the month of November continues with the Great Lakes Region Championships, hosted by Purdue, on Saturday, Nov. 15 in West Lafayette, Ind. The season concludes in Terre Haute at the NCAA Cross Country Championships on Monday, Nov. 24.
