    INDIANA INTERCOLLEGIATES HISTORY
The annual Indiana Intercollegiates is one of the oldest and largest meets in the Hoosier State that brings together universities and colleges for the three-race event.

This year marks the 70th men's race, dating back to 1938 when the Hoosiers won on Butler University's course. The women's race enters its 27th year, dating back to 1981 when IU won on Indiana State's course.

The Hoosiers have long dominated the event, as the men's program has claimed 39 Intercollegiates titles and the women have won the meet on 11 occasions.

Last season, the men finished second with 55 points to Indiana State, who recorded a final team score of 47 points. The women's team finished third with 120 points, behind Purdue (49 points) and Ball State (74 points).

    HOOSIERS EARN VOTES
Indiana's men's team received 17 votes in the preseason USTFCCCA Men's Division I Cross Country Poll, announced on Sept. 15.

The Hoosiers ended the 2007 season ranked 28th in the final poll after finishing 28th at the NCAA Championships. IU also ranks fifth among the preseason Great Lakes Region poll, while the women's team ranks 11th among the region.

    A FEW NEW FACES
Several new faces were seen on the IU Course on Saturday, Sept. 13 at the Indiana Open.
