Bloomington, IN - Fresh off its second Indiana Intercollegiate title in the last three years, the Indiana men's cross country team has moved up from No. 24 to No. 20 in this week's Mondo Men's NCAA Cross Country poll. This is the Hoosiers' best national ranking since Oct. 31, 2000, when they were ranked No. 15. Indiana is idle this week before returning to action Oct. 5 at the Indiana State Invitational in Terre Haute. This is the first of two opportunities that Indiana will have to race on the same course that hosts the Nov. 25 NCAA Championships. The annual Pre-NCAA meet will be held in Terre Haute on Oct. 19.
"I am so proud of the guys. We're off to a great start," IU coach Robert Chapman. "Although this is quite an accomplishment, the next two months will be a challenge. It's awesome to get recognition, but it also means that other teams will be gunning for you, too."
