MEN FINISH FOURTH AT SAM BELL INVITATIONAL

Bloomington, Ind. -- The Indiana Invitational was renamed the Sam Bell Invitational today in honor of the retired legend. Bell spent 29 years at the head of Indiana cc and track and field.

Sophomore Aaron Gillen led the men's team for the third straight race as the team came in fourth at the newly named Sam Bell Invitational.

Missouri dominated the men's 8k race with all five scoring finishers in the finishers in the top nine.

"We really wanted to finish better today in honor of coach Bell," said IU men's coach Robert Chapman. "I was really disappointed we didn't beat Cumberland."

(on Gillen) "Aaron really gug deep today. You can tell he's 'going to the well' every race."

Next meet: The Hoosiers will run at the NCAA Pre-district meet in Terre Haute October 10th.
