October 9, 1999 INDIANA FINISHES SECOND, BELL FINISHES FIRST AT MURRAY KEATING INVITATIONAL
Orono, ME- Indiana traveled to the University of Maine to compete in the eighth annual Murray Keating Invitational today. The Hoosiers finished in second place with 41 points.
Freshman Amanda Bell continued her domination in cross country by finishing in first place with a time of 17:58.6. This was the third time this season that Bell has finished a race in first place. The other two races were the Indiana Open and the Indiana Intercollegiate. The other runners for the Hoosiers were senior Monica Hostetler, senior Megan Leahy, freshman Allyson Hammond, sophomore Erin Womble and senior Kim Craig. Leahy and Hammond both finished in the top 10 of the race.
Hostetler, Leahy, Womble and Craig all improved their times in a 5K race this season. Hostetler went from 18:24.3 to 18:12.1, Leahy went from 18:54.4 to 18:33, Womble went from 19:17.3 to 18:57.5 and Craig improved from 19:06.7 to 19:03.3.

Indiana's next home meet will be the Pre-NCAA meets on October 16. The Hoosiers will then host the NCAA Division I Championship on November 22.
