BELL NAMED CROSS COUNTRY ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
October 21, 1999 BELL NAMED CROSS COUNTRY ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Bloomington, Ind.- Freshman Amanda Bell, from Clarksville, Indiana, was named Athlete of the Week by the Big Ten in Cross Country.
There are certainly good reasons for this achievement. Bell has finished in first place for the Hoosiers three out of four races this season. At the Murray Keating Invitational in Orono, Maine she completed the race with a time of 17:58.6. The other two meets in which she finished in first place were the Indiana Open and the Indiana Intercollegiate.
" I was really surprised with this honor. Being only a freshman
and having the Big Ten recognize me is nice. I can't let it get to my head
though. My teammates have all told me how proud that they are and congratulations,"
