    IU PLACES FIFTH AT THE BIG TEN CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS

    University Park, PA- The Indiana University men's cross country team competed in the 1999 Big Ten Cross Country Championships at Penn State today. The Hoosiers finished fifth with 143 points.

    The top finisher for IU was senior Tom Chorny. Chorny came in fourth place with a time of 25:24.1. This race improved his time for the season from 25:31.2. Junior Aaron Gillen was the next finisher for the Hoosiers. Gillen came in 29th place with a time of 26:28.7.

    IU will run in the NCAA Great Lakes Regional on November 13 in Terre Haute, Indiana. The men will start at 11:00 a.m.
