BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Sophomore Timothy McLeod earned Big Ten Sportsmanship honors for cross country, which was announced by the league on Nov. 2.
McLeod, one of 21 cross country student-athletes that were honored by the Big Ten, is now a candidate for the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award, as the conference office will honor one male and one female student-athlete from each institution at the end of the school year.
McLeod placed 12th in the 8K at Big Ten Championships with a time of 24:46 and earned second team All-Big Ten honors. He paced the Hoosiers to a sixth place finish in the meet, and his time is the fifth-best time on the IU Cross Country Course.
McLeod and the rest of the Hoosiers will be back in action next weekend when they travel to the Great Lakes Regional in Bowling Green, Ohio on Nov. 11.
