Hoosiers Travel to Great Lakes Regional Championships This Weekend

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana men's cross country team will travel to the Great Lakes Regional Championship on Saturday, Nov. 11, hosted by Bowling Green State on Forrest Creason Golf Course in Bowling Green, Ohio. The men's 10K is scheduled to start at 11 a.m. (ET), with the women's 6K immediately following the men's race.
Top qualifying teams and individuals will advance to the 2006 NCAA Championships in Terre Haute, Ind., on Nov. 20.
On Oct. 29, the Hoosiers served as the host of the Big Ten Championships, where Indiana finished sixth with a team score of 151 points.
Sophomore Timothy McLeod paced the Hoosiers, finishing 12th overall with a time of 24:46 on the 8K course. The Tucson, Ariz., native earned All-Big Ten Second Team honors while competing in his first Big Ten Championships.
McLeod also earned Big Ten Sportsmanship honors and is eligible for the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award, which is awarded to one male and one female student-athlete from each league institution by the Big Ten at the end of the school year.
