SETTING THE SCENE
The Hoosiers will look to extend their championship season on Saturday, Nov. 15 when they compete in the 2008 NCAA Great Lakes Region Championships at he Varsity Cross Country Course in West Lafayette, Ind. The top two teams in each region will automatically advance to NCAA Championships, while the top four student-athletes who are not on a team that earns the automatic trip, will also automatically qualify for the national meet. All individual automatic qualifiers must finish in the top 25 within their region. The NCAA will announce the at-large bids on Monday, Nov. 17.
HOOSIERS AT NO. 28 IN LATEST POLL
The Indiana men's cross country team are ranked at No. 28 in this week's USTFCCCA Top 30 poll. The Hoosiers picked up 44 votes this week. IU entered the USTFCCCA poll for the first time on Oct. 21 at No. 19, after finishing eighth at Pre-Nationals on Oct. 18 in Terre Haute, Ind. The Hoosiers were ranked 19th again in the Oct. 28 poll.
WHERE IU RANKS IN THE GREAT LAKES ...
Indiana held its spots in this week's USTFCCCA Great Lakes Region poll. The men enter this weekend's championship ranked No. 3 in the poll, while the women's team head into Sunday ranked at No. 6 in the region.
WHAT'S COMING UP
The season wraps up with the NCAA Championships at the LaVern Gibson Course in Terre Haute on Monday, Nov. 24. The women's race will be a 6K beginning at 12:08 p.m. ET, and the men's 10K race is slated for a 12:48 p.m. start.
