Indiana Baseball (49-15) suffered its first loss of the College World Series when Mississippi State's late-inning push gave the Bulldogs (50-18) a 5-4 win. A three-run eighth erased the Hoosiers' lead and advanced MSU into the four-team bracket finals on Friday. Meanwhile, Indiana is now set to battle Oregon State (51-12) in a Wednesday afternoon elimination game.

Indiana track and field closed saw action open at the USA Jr. and Sr. Championships on Wednesday, as freshman Stephen Keller competed in the junior men's decathlon. Keller finished the day in 10th place with 3,477 points.

Hoosier Baseball ousted the Louisville Cardinals (51-13) in Indiana's first ever College World Series appearance, grinding out a 2-0 win. The CWS victory improves Indiana's overall season record to 49-14, 6-0 in the NCAA Tournament and 3-1 versus Louisville in 2013. The triumph also tilts the all-time series versus Louisville in favor of IU, 22-21.

Indiana's Tracy Smith was selected as the National Coach of the Year, announced by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA). It marks the sixth year of the NCBWA awarding the honors.

For the first time in IU history, two head coaches were named National Coach of the Year in their respective sports in the same school year. Baseball coach Tracy Smith was named National Coach of the Year on Saturday, June 15, by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association, while head soccer coach Todd Yeagley was named National Coach of the Year in the fall.

Indiana women's basketball will have two incoming freshmen showcasing their talents this weekend as a part of the Indiana-Kentucky Girls Basketball All-Star series. Sheridan, Ind., native Jennifer Anderson will suit up for the Indiana All Stars as Richmond, Ky., native Larryn Brooks will play for Kentucky.

Derek Drouin is the National Field Athlete of the Year, the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced. Drouin earns the award for the third time in his career (Indoors in 2011 and 2013, Outdoors in 2013) and sweeps the indoor and outdoor awards this year. Drouin is only the second athlete to sweep both awards in one year and his three honors are second to only world record holder, Olympic Gold Medalist and 2010 Bowerman award winner Ashton Eaton, who swept the awards in 2009 and 2010 to win it four times.

The Indiana University baseball team (48-14) is headed to Omaha to compete in the NCAA College World Series from June 15-26. Indiana begins their quest for a national championship Saturday night versus Louisville at 7 pm CT/8 pm ET live on ESPN.

The American Baseball Coaches Association released its All-Region teams Thursday (June 13), and a school-record four Hoosiers earned a spot on the All-Mideast Region squad. Scott Donley, Kyle Schwarber and Aaron Slegers were named First Team while Dustin DeMuth found himself on the Second Team.

Trailing by five points with 52 seconds left on the road in Ann Arbor last March, the Indiana University men's basketball team overcame tremendous odds to win its first outright Big Ten championship since 1993. Five years ago, Coach Tom Crean inherited a program that faced the loss of two scholarships with an APR score of 866. Showing the same resolve off the court, the Hoosiers received an APR Public Recognition Award a week ago and have the top score among all Big Ten teams with a perfect four-year mark of 1,000.
