Mattie White is in her eight year at Indiana University and second as the Associate Athletic Director for Student-Athlete Well-Being and Development. White oversees all student-athlete welfare and development programs and is the sport administrator for the field hockey, rowing, wrestling and men's and women's cross country and track and field programs. In addition to her administrative duties, she serves as the department's liaison to various student affairs units on campus.

White joined the Hoosier staff in 2005, as an Academic Advisor and CHAMPS/Life Skills Coordinator. In 2006, she was promoted to the Assistant Athletic Director for Academic and Student Development Services position where she provided leadership for Learning Services, Life Skills programming and the academic programs for football and men's basketball.

White came to Indiana University from Macalester College, where she was the Assistant Director of Campus Programs for Multicultural Life. While at Macalester, her duties included developing and implementing campus wide multicultural programming, advising student organizations, and supervising the Cultural House. White also collaborated with the athletics department in establishing the institution's CHAMPS/Life Skills program.

The Cambridge, Ohio, native received both her bachelor's degree in journalism (2002) and master's of education (2004) from Ohio University. In 2008, White completed a second master's degree in athletic administration through the school of Health, Physical Education and Recreation (HPER) at Indiana University. Currently, she is finishing an educational specialist degree in counseling and counselor education and pursuing a Ph.D. in IU's School of Public Health specializing in health behavior.
