Indiana Falls at No. 5 Ohio State, 81-64

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Despite three players reaching double-digit points, the Indiana women's basketball team fell at No. 5 Ohio State, 81-64, on Sunday, Jan. 17.
Junior Jori Davis led the Hoosiers (10-8, 3-4) with 17 points, while senior Jamie Braun netted 11 points and junior Hope Elam scored 10 points in the effort. Sophomore Danilsa Andujar led Indiana with eight rebounds.
Down by 11, 23-12, at the 8:11 mark, the Hoosiers mounted a comeback as Ashlee Mells sank a pair of free throws to spark a 14-6 IU run to bring the team within three of the Buckeyes (19-1, 7-0), 29-26, with 1:22 remaining in the first half. OSU's Jantel Lavender netted a pair of free throws to increase Ohio State's lead back to five, 31-26 at the break.
The Buckeyes came out of the halftime break on a 12-3 run to take their largest lead of the game, 43-29, with 17:12 to go in the game. The Hoosiers fought back with a 13-8 run to cut OSU's lead to seven, 51-44, with 11 minutes remaining, but the Buckeyes answered on a three-point play from Shavelle Little to regain a double-digit lead and didn't look back en route to the 81-64 win.
Davis sank 7-of-18 from the field and grabbed seven boards. Braun made 4-of-11 from the floor, including a three 3-pointers, and added six assists, five rebounds and two steals.
Indiana shot 37.5 percent (24-of-64) from the field, 34.8 percent (8-of-23) from the 3-point line and 53.3 percent (8-of-15) from the free throw line. Ohio State won the battle on the boards, 55-29.
The Hoosiers return to action on Thursday, Jan. 21, when they play host to Northwestern at 7 p.m. ET in Assembly Hall.
