BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Five Hoosiers reached double-digit points as the Indiana women's basketball team (21-10) defeated Bowling Green, 75-67, on Thursday, March 26, to advance to the quarterfinals of the WNIT.

Senior Whitney Thomas collected her 32nd career double-double, her 10th of the season, with 13 points and 12 rebounds. She added four assists, two blocked shots and one steal. Senior Amber Jackson led the Hoosiers with 17 points on 7-of-9 shooting from the floor, and added eight rebounds and a blocked shot. Indiana's 21 wins is the first time the Hoosiers have reached that feat since the 1997-98 season, and for only the fourth time in school history.

"In order for a team to come in here and beat this team (Bowling Green), that team has to be incredible, and I have to give it to my young ladies," IU head coach Felisha Legette-Jack said. "We played focused basketball for 40 minutes and it took 40 minutes to beat Bowling Green. The fans here are unbelievable, but we brought our bus along and they were kind of loud too. I can't be more proud of my young ladies than I am right now. This team just kept growing and getting better and learning the lessons along the way."

The Hoosiers controlled the first half, holding the Falcons (29-5) to single-digit points for the first nine minutes of the game to build up a 16-9 lead at the 10:50 mark. Indiana led by double-digits the entire half as Thomas scored 10 points and added seven boards.

Indiana opened the second half with the first basket as Davis put in a layup with 19:25 on the clock to give the Hoosiers a 38-25 lead. However, Bowling Green battled back as Lindsey Goldberry sank a jumper at the 18:42 mark to spark a 29-17 Falcon run that brought the home team within two, 55-53, with 7:44 left to play. The Hoosiers held their ground and answered with a 7-0 run, ignited by an Ashlee Mells 3-pointer, over the their own to increase their lead back to 11, 64-53, with 2:38 to go. BGSU kept fighting back to cut IU's lead back to five, 67-62, with just 52 seconds to go, but the Hoosiers kept the advantage on free throws for the 75-67.

The Hoosiers shot 48.1 percent (26-of-54) from the field and 79.2 percent (19-of-24) from the free throw line. IU also held the advantage on the boards, outrebounding Bowling Green, 39-31. The Falcons shot 38.7 percent (24-of-62) from the field and 82.2 percent (14-of-17) from the free throw line.
