BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Senior Hope Elam led the Hoosiers with 15 points to set the pace for a 50-44 win over St. Bonaventure in IU's home opener for the 2010-11 season. Two other Hoosiers (2-0) also notched double figures with senior All-America candidate Jori Davis netting 13 points and sophomore Aulani Sinclair added 10. Davis also added four steals along with six rebounds, a block and a steal. Sinclair was 4-of-6 from the field including a pair of 3's beyond the arc.

The Bonnies (1-1) came out early to take a 15-8 lead midway through the first half. The Hoosiers responded finishing with a 19-3 run in the final 10:01 to take a 27-18 lead into the locker room. IU held St. Bonaventure to just 28 percent shooting from the field in the first stanza.

St. Bonaventure tried to fight its way back cutting the lead to four twice, but Indiana's stellar defense prevailed as IU forced 25 Bonnie turnovers and just 32 percent shooting for the game. Seniors Whitney Lindsay and Andrea McGuirt each accounted for three steals, while junior Alisha Goodwin added two.

"What a great team St. Bonaventure has, they are great team that is going to really help us learn how to be a better team later in the season," said IU head coach Felisha Legette-Jack. "Even though we didn't play the best basketball, I really liked the fact that we did enough to win. We'll take an ugly win over a pretty loss any day."

Indiana will return to Assembly Hall on Thursday night at 7 p.m. ET as it welcomes the University of Memphis to Bloomington. Thursday's game will be streamed live on with a cost of $2.99.
