BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana women's basketball team welcomed Girls, Inc. to Assembly Hall on Wednesday, Feb. 6 in honor of National Girls and Women in Sports Day.

Girls, Inc. was given a tour of Assembly Hall and the women's basketball locker room, and were able to attend a portion of practice. The group also met with Stephanie Siler, IU's Director of Operations, to ask questions about the team and what being involved in collegiate athletics is like.

Feb. 6 marks the official National Girls and Women in Sports Day, although the event is celebrated though out the entire month of February.

Join the Hoosiers and "THINK PINK" as they celebrate National Girls and Women in Sports Day on Sunday, Feb. 17 when they battle Michigan at noon ET on the Big Ten Network.

Between 10 a.m.-noon, the concourse of Assembly Hall will be lined with exhibitors ranging from IU Athletics teams to recreational sports teams, departments on campus and after-school programs. More than 30 stations will be on hand providing activities for youth.

The Feb. 17 contest vs. the Wolverines also marks IU's "THINK PINK" game as the Hoosiers encourage fans to join the team in WEARING PINK to the game in support of breast cancer awareness. The first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive a pink pom. Following the game, the Indiana women's basketball team will be available to sign autographs in the South lobby.

Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for youth (high school age and under). IU students are admitted free with a valid university ID and groups of 25 or more are just $2 per person. For more information or to purchase tickets, call 1-866-IUSPORTS.
