Head to the Hall March 2 and Catch a Hoosier Doubleheader
Feb. 21, 2008
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - With more than 14,000 tickets sold, fans still have chance to be a part of a unique opportunity and catch both Indiana basketball teams as the Big Ten Network presents Head to the Hall on Sunday, March 2.
Indiana head coach Felisha Legette-Jack and the Hoosiers are looking to set a new attendance record in the state of Indiana for an on-campus women's basketball game and want you to Head to the Hall for just $1. The record of 14,124 fans was set in 1999 at Mackey Arena.
"IU women's basketball is alive and well as we are creating a legacy here with tremendous student-athletes," Legette-Jack said. "We are looking to make history in Assembly Hall on March 2 by breaking the attendance record of 14,124 fans set by Purdue and the Hoosiers need their sixth person in those seats."
In order to help Indiana set the record, the Big Ten Network has purchased 5,000 tickets from the IU Department of Athletics. Those tickets will be donated to local charities.
The IU Department of Athletics are opening the doors of Assembly Hall at 1:30 p.m. ET to give fans a chance to watch the IU men's basketball team battle for the Big Ten Championship on the Assembly Hall video board at 2 p.m.
Tip-off against Penn State is set for 4 p.m. as the Hoosiers fight for a top-five seed in the Big Ten Women's Basketball Tournament. Fans will also have a chance to help IU honor shooting guard Nikki Smith as the team celebrates her four years as a Hoosier.
The first 3,000 fans in attendance will receive a FREE t-shirt.
Hoosier fans still have a chance to be a part of Indiana basketball history as seats to Sunday's doubleheader are still available. To order tickets, call 1-866-IUSPORTS or log on at IUHoosiers.com for more information.
