Hoosiers Will Be No. 6 Seed in 2009 Big Ten Women's Basketball Tournament

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana women's basketball team will head into the 2009 Big Ten Women's Basketball Tournament as the No. 6 seed and will face 11th-seeded Michigan on Thursday, March 5 at approximately 2:30 p.m. ET at Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
The Hoosiers closed out the regular season with a 67-61 win over the Wolverines, completing the regular season sweep after knocking off Michigan in Ann Arbor, 60-50. Indiana leads the all-time series vs. Michigan, 40-16. The Hoosiers are 3-0 against the Wolverines in the Big Ten Tournament, recording their last win, 68-62, on March 2, 2006 in the first round.
IU ended the Big Ten slate tied for fifth place with Minnesota with an 11-7 record, but earned the six seed on a head-to-head tiebreaker with the Gophers. Indiana is 8-4 all-time in the first round of the tournament and will be the sixth seed for the second consecutive year and for the third time in the last four tournaments.
