BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana women's basketball team received an at-large bid as one of 48 teams for the 2007 Postseason Women's National Invitation Tournament (WNIT), which was announced on Monday, March 12.

The Hoosiers (18-13) will face the winner of the Iona-Long Island game in the second round of the tournament on Sunday, March 18, at noon ET in Assembly Hall. Iona will host Long Island on Thursday, March 15, at 7:30 ET in New Rochelle, NY.

Indiana heads into the postseason after entering the Big Ten Women's Basketball Tournament as a No. 9 seed. The Hoosiers knocked off No. 8 Iowa in the first round, 67-53, before falling to No. 1 seed Ohio State, 72-60, in the quarterfinals.

The 48-team field is the first in the history of the postseason tournament. For the first time, each of the nation's 31 conferences will be represented in the WNIT. The tournament expanded to 48 teams this year to accommodate an automatic berth for each of the conferences.

Game time and an official date will be announced on Tuesday, March 13. For more information on the Hoosiers' second-straight trip to the postseason, visit IUHOOSIERS.com.
