BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Members of the Indiana women's basketball team and staff continued their efforts of reaching out to the community by volunteering at different organizations in Bloomington on April 17-18.

On Thursday, junior Whitney Thomas and sophomore Jamie Braun, along with Director of Basketball Operations Stephanie Siler, volunteered at the Boys & Girls Club of Bloomington. The Hoosiers played basketball with area youth during their visit.

The Boys & Girls Club of Bloomington offers programs and services to enhance the development of boys and girls by instilling a sense of competence, usefulness, belonging and influence.

On Friday morning, junior Kim Roberson and freshman Andrea McGuirt joined Thomas and Siler as they spent an hour and half helping the Bloomington Shalom Center staff prepare lunch.

The Shalom Community center is a safe, daytime resource for people experiencing homelessness and poverty.
