    IU Women's Basketball to Hold Series of Camps This Summer

    BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Hoosier head women's basketball coach Felisha Legette-Jack has announced the dates for the 2007 Indiana Girls Basketball Camps, which will be held throughout the summer.

    IU's Elite Camp, which will be held June 15-17, is for girls in grades 9-12. It is designed for advance players who aspire to play basketball at the highest level. Campers will receive position-specific skill instruction from Legette-Jack and other collegiate coaches. Campers will also be able to experience a day in the life of an IU women's basketball player. They will have the opportunity to experience pre-game activities, as well as, strength and conditioning and scouting opponents. Overnight cost for the Elite Camp is $185 per player, which includes meals and lodging. Commuter cost is $175 and includes meals.

    Legette-Jack and her staff will also host a Team Shootout on June 21-23. The Team Shootout is for girls in grades 6-12 and features junior high and high school teams from around the country. Teams are placed in pools according to skill level and then guaranteed at least five games against appropriate opponents as well as an automatic berth in the camp tournament. Teams must consist of at least seven players and one adult coach. Overnight cost for the Team Shootout $200 per player and includes meals and lodging. Cost for commuters is $175 and includes meals.

    The Hoosiers will also host a Fundamental Camp on June 24-26 for girls in grades 4-12. This camp is designed to develop fundamental basketball skills and teach the dynamics of teamwork and sportsmanship. Camp will be divided into groups based on age and skill level. Campers will receive individual instruction in a fun, yet competitive, environment. Overnight cost for the Fundamentals Camp is $275 per player, which includes meals and lodging. Cost for commuters is $225 and includes meals.

    Legette-Jack and the Hoosiers round out the camp season with the Satellite Camp in Fishers, Ind., on August 1-2 for girls in grades 4-12. The Satellite Camp gives players of all skill levels a chance to experience the IU Girls Basketball Camp in one of the nation's premier basketball facilities - The Fieldhouse in Fishers. This camp has a commuter cost of $200 per player.

    Each camp features experience in the home of the Hoosiers - Assembly Hall, individual instruction from Legette-Jack and other collegiate basketball coaches and players, low camper-to-coach ratio, team play and guest and motivational speakers. Each camp also includes an awards ceremony, on-site athletic trainers, a camp t-shirt and special camp giveaways.

    All camp activities except for the Satellite Camp will take place on the beautiful Bloomington campus including the HPER Building (Wildermuth Center) and the historic Assembly Hall.
