IU Women's Basketball Continues Service to the Bloomington Community

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana women's basketball team continued is service to the Bloomington community last weekend as it participated in a VIP open house for Middle Way House and assisted in the Coach Hep Indiana Cancer Challenge.
The Hoosiers assisted in the open house of a new facility at Middle Way House on Friday, April 30. The Middle Way House envisions a community where individuals live free from violence and the threat of violence with a community characterized between women and men and social and economic justice.
The team also passed out water to participants in the 2010 Coach Hep Indiana Cancer Challenge on Saturday, May 1. The cycle-run-walk event is in honor of late IU head football coach Terry Hoepnner and is a fundraising event and community tradition to promote the importance of cancer research and education by raising awareness to fight the battle against cancer. Coach Hep faced every obstacle, even brain cancer, with a positive attitude, inspiring thoughts of football fans during his career.
Indiana head coach Felisha Legette-Jack was also one of IU's notable speakers at the third annual Coach Hep Indiana Cancer Challenge.
