IU Women's Basketball Names 2010 Summer Captains

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana women's basketball program has announced 2010 Summer Captains. Rising senior Jori Davis, rising redshirt sophomore Sasha Chaplin and rising sophomore Aulani Sinclair will serve as the summer captains for the Hoosiers as the summer session of classes at IU begin next week.
Davis, a native of Rochester, N.Y., led Indiana in scoring in 2009-10 with 16.7 points per game and ranked second with 6.4 rebounds per contest, earning Second Team All-Big Ten honors as a junior. She started 28 of the 30 games she played and shot 72.8 percent (147-of-202) from the free throw line. Davis also tallied 58 assists and 46 steals.
After missing the majority of her true freshman season with a knee injury, Chaplin registered 9.3 points and a team-best 7.0 rebounds per game as a redshirt freshman in 20 games. She sank 52.8 percent (76-of-144) from the field. Chaplin, a native of St. Petersburg, Fla., also recorded 19 blocked shots and 19 steals.
Sinclair, a native of Eminence, Ind., played in all 30 games as a rookie and averaged 3.6 points and 1.8 rebounds per contest. She also shot 38.9 percent (21-of-54) from the 3-point line and tallied 18 steals and 11 assists.
