Legette-Jack Inks Whitney Lindsay for 2007-08 Season

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana head women's basketball coach Felisha Legette-Jack has announced the addition of Whitney Lindsay, a 5-7 point guard from St. Peter's High School in Mansfield, Ohio, on Wednesday, May 9.
"We are very fortunate to have Whitney Lindsay on our team," Legette-Jack said. "She is a wonderful addition to the program. Whitney's speed and quickness, along with her ability to lead are contagious. She will help us further our goal of continuing to pursue championships."
Lindsay averaged 21.1 points, 6.3 assists, 5.5 steals and 4.0 rebounds per game her senior year at St. Peter's, earning first team All-Ohio Division IV honors. She also earned Northwestern District Player of the Year, District Six Player of the Year and News Journal Player of the Year honors in her final campaign at St. Peter's. Lindsay is also a three-time all-stater.
The Mansfield, Ohio, native led the area in assists and steals last season, and was second in scoring. She leaves St. Peter's as the school's all-time career steals and assists leader with 367 thefts and 554 assists. She holds the all-time mark for most points in a season with 507 and for the highest season average with 21.1 points per game in 2006-07. She ranks second on the all-time scoring list with 1,458 points.
Lindsay helped lead St. Peter's to four regional tournaments and two trips to the state tournament. The Spartans were 79-22 during the three-year captain's career. She was also a standout in soccer and track.
Lindsay joins Legette-Jack's first recruiting class, which includes 5-9 guard Jori Davis (Rochester, N.Y./Greece-Athena), 6-4 forward Georgia Follmer (Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif./Santa Margarita Catholic), 5-10 forward Ebony Jackson (Indianapolis, Ind./Arlington), 5-11 guard Haylie Linn (Madison, Wis./Edgewood), 5-9 guard Andrea McGuirt (Atlanta, Ga./Marist) and 6-2 forward Amber Jackson (Oxnard, Calif./San Jose State).
