BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana women's basketball team will play host to its Big Ten/ACC Challenge game for the second straight year as the Hoosiers will welcome Virginia Tech to Assembly Hall on Wednesday, Dec. 4. Both conferences made the official announcement of this year's pairings on Thursday.

"We are excited about hosting Virginia Tech in the annual challenge," head coach Curt Miller said. "I have great respect for their coaching staff and the program they are building. They are coming off an excellent year defensively as they held 20 opponents to 60 points or less during the 2012-13 season. The game will be a good measuring stick for our young team as we enter the 2013-14 season with ten freshmen and sophomores on the roster."

This year's game will mark the first time Indiana and Virginia Tech will have ever played each other in women's basketball. Both teams won their respective challenge games in this event last season as the Hokies topped Wisconsin, 47-38, and IU defeated Clemson at home, 52-49.

The Hoosiers are 3-3 all-time in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge and have won two of their last three games in the annual event.

Challenge games will be contested in a two-day format on Wednesday, Dec. 4 and Thursday, Dec. 5. Last year, Big Ten teams combined for a 5-7 record against the ACC. In the past two seasons, the two conferences have squared off in head-to-head competition on 37 total occasions with the Big Ten holding a 19-18 advantage.

Game times, as well as broadcast coverage, will be announced at a later date. The entire lineup of the seventh annual Big Ten/ACC Challenge is below.
