IU Women's Basketball Defeats Sernavimar Marghera, 79-69

MARGHERA, Italy - The Indiana women's basketball came back from a 12-point deficit early in the third quarter to defeat Sernavimar Marghera, 79-69, in its third game on a tour of Italy.
The Hoosiers led early in the first half, but a 33-21 run from Marghera went the two teams into the halftime break with the Hoosiers down by nine, 44-35. Marghera opened the second half outscoring IU, 7-4, to take its largest lead of the game, 51-39. However, the Hoosiers fought back behind an outstanding effort by Jori Davis and a 39-14 run in the final 16:23 of the game for the 79-69 win.
Davis led the Hoosiers and also grabbed nine rebounds. Amber Jackson tallied a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds, while Whitney Thomas also grabbed 10 boards and scored six points. Jamie Braun also collected a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Kim Roberson recorded eight rebounds and two points, Danilsa Andujar scored 10 points and recorded five rebounds and Ashlee Mells netted six points and came away with four caroms.
The Hoosiers will play their final game in Italy on Sunday, May 24, when they face ASD Geas Basket in Lake Como.
