Indiana Women's Basketball to Host Clemson in ACC/Big Ten Challenge
May 22, 2012
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana women's basketball team will welcome the Clemson Tigers to Assembly Hall on Nov. 28, 2012, as part of the sixth installment of the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. Both conferences made the official announcement of this year's pairings on Tuesday.
"We are excited about the opportunity to host the ACC/Big Ten Challenge this year," head coach Curt Miller said. "I personally have great respect for Coach Coleman and her Clemson program. It is also an opportunity for our conference to showcase the outstanding talent within Big Ten."
This year's game will mark the first time IU will host a challenge opponent from the ACC since 2009. It will also be the second time in three seasons in which the Hoosiers match up with Clemson in the annual challenge. Indiana knocked off the Tigers on the road on Dec. 2, 2010, 65-51.
The game with Clemson will be the third all-time meeting between the two schools, as the overall series is tied at 1-1. It will be the first time that IU and Clemson will play each other in Bloomington.
In last year's challenge, the Big Ten and ACC battled to a 6-6 draw, while the Big Ten went 9-7 overall against ACC in all games played in 2011-12. As it has been in the past, the 2012 challenge will played in a two day format, beginning Wednesday, Nov. 28. Game times, as well as broadcast coverage, will be announced at a later date. The entire lineup for the ACC/Big Ten Challenge is below.
