Legette-Jack Adds Goodwin to 2010-11 IU Women's Basketball Roster

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana head women's basketball coach Felisha Legette-Jack has announced junior college player Alisha Goodwin (Belleville, Ill./Althoff Catholic/Jefferson College) will continue her playing career at Indiana University.
Goodwin, a 5-8 point guard, helped lead Jefferson College to a second place finish in the NJCAA National Tournament with an overall record of 32-2. She averaged 12.9 points, 3.0 assists, 2.8 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game.
"I'm so proud of my staff for really pounding the pavement and putting together a great recruiting class," said Legette-Jack. "Alisha brings us a backup in the point guard position, as well as at the two guard spot. She is a gifted athlete with a high IQ for the game and I really think her track background will help is push the ball up the floor this upcoming season. Alisha is just an unbelievable person with a great personality and we are really excited about her becoming a Hoosier."
A native of Belleville, Ill., Goodwin earned first team all-conference, first team all-state, Illinois Basketball Services Second Team All-State and Illinois Basketball Coaches Association Third Team All-State honors at Althoff Catholic High School. She was a Belleville News Democrat Class AA First Team selection and was a two-time St. Louis Post-Dispatch Player of the Week honoree.
Goodwin was also a four-year High Honor Roll student at Althoff. She joins Andrea Newbauer (Ft. Wayne, Ind./Concordia), Simone Deloach (Round Rock, Texas/Round Rock) and Milika Taufa (Lahaina, Hawai'i/Lahainaluna) as new additions to the 2010-11 roster.
