    Braun and Thomas Featured Among Top-20 Returning IU Student-Athletes

    BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Rising junior Jamie Braun and senior Whitney Thomas were selected as two of the top-20 returning Hoosier student-athletes to watch for in 2008-09, selected by the writers of the Indiana Daily Student.

    Braun, a 5-8 guard from Marshfield, Wis., earned Second Team All-Big Ten honors from both the media and coaches after leading IU with 14.5 points per game on the season. She also averaged 16.3 points against league foes and finished fifth in scoring among Big Ten leaders. Braun also led the Hoosiers with 3.5 assists per game.

    Thomas, a 6-0 forward from Bloomington, earned Second Team All-Big Ten honors from the league's media and third team honors from its coaches after averaging 12.2 points and 8.7 rebounds per contest. She ranked third in rebounding within the Big Ten and recorded 11 double-doubles on the season. Thomas also averaged 2.2 steals and 2.0 assists per game.
