2010-11 Indiana Women's Basketball Newcomers, Part One

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - IUHoosiers.com's Jeremy Gray took time to talk to Indiana women's basketball newcomers freshman Simone Deloach and junior Alisha Goodwin in the first of a two part series on coming to Indiana, their style of play and what they are looking forward to as a Hoosier.
Deloach, a 6-3 forward from Round Rock, Texas (Round Rock), was a defensive specialist at her high school earning Round Rock's Defensive Player of the Year honors in 2010. Her shot-blocking skills also helped earn her First Team All-District for the Round Rock ISD as a senior and was honored as a 2010 Dennis Johnson Memorial High School All-Star.
Goodwin, a 5-8 guard from Belleville, Ill, helped Jefferson College to a second place finish in the NJCAA National Tournament with an overall record of 32-2. She averaged 12.9 points, 3.0 assists, 2.8 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game her sophomore season. At Althoff Catholic High School, Goodwin earned first team all-conference, first team all-state, Illinois Basketball Services Second Team All-State and Illinois Basketball Coaches Association Third Team All-State honors.
