Jackson Signs One-Year Pro Contract in Spain

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Former Indiana forward Amber Jackson has signed a one-year contract to play professionally for Club Baloncesto Arxil in Pontenvedra, Spain. Club Baloncesto Arxil is in the Spanish Basketball Federation.
"I'm so grateful that I have this opportunity to continue playing basketball and at the professional level," said Jackson. "In every basketball player's life, the ball stops bouncing at some point and I feel immensely blessed that I still can continue doing what I love to do on the hardwood. There's nothing like this game and I'm truly passionate for it. I'm all smiles and I can't wait to start my amazing adventure with Arxil."
Jackson played at the forward position for the Hoosiers during her junior and senior campaigns. In her short time at Indiana, the native of Yokosuka, Japan, scored 817 points and grabbed 413 rebounds in 62 games. She shot 51.9 percent (345-of-664) from the field and also sank 70.9 percent (127-of-179) from the free throw line. In 2009, Jackson earned Honorable Mention All-Big Ten honors.
"I'm glad to see that Amber has found a place to land professionally as a basketball player," said IU head coach Felisha Legette-Jack. "I wish her all the best in her future endeavors."
Jackson spent her freshman and sophomore seasons at San Jose State where she recorded 921 points and 519 rebounds. She shot 61.8 percent (396-of-640) from the field at SJSU and earned first team All-WAC honors as a sophomore and second team honors as a freshman.
Earlier in the summer, former Hoosier Kim Roberson signed a five-year contract to play for Samsung Life Bichumi in South Korea.
