BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Curt Miller era begins with 17 home games and six matchups with other in-state institutions as the 2012-13 Indiana women's basketball schedule was announced on Friday, Aug. 31. Remaining game times and televised contests will be announced at a later date.

"I am excited for the upcoming 2012-13 season and the schedule that we inherited," head coach Curt Miller said. "The highlight of the schedule is the opportunity to play 17 home games in Assembly Hall. We believe this gives us a great chance to connect with the loyal fan base and build the excitement of our program heading into the future."

Indiana will tipoff the season with two road contests, beginning with in-state foe Valparaiso on Nov. 9 before heading to Murray State on Nov. 12. The Hoosiers will open its home schedule on Friday, Nov. 16, as the Indiana State Sycamores will arrive in Assembly Hall. IU will then hit the road again for a battle with Texas A&M Corpus Christi on Nov. 19.

The Hoosiers will then host five-consecutive home contests and eight of their next nine games at Assembly Hall, starting with IUPUI on Nov. 23 and IPFW on Nov. 26. Two days later, Indiana will host Clemson in this year's installment of the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. IU will then welcome Cleveland State (Dec. 2) and Belmont (Dec. 4).

After a visit to Hinkle Fieldhouse to battle Butler on Dec. 9, Indiana will wrap up its non-conference slate at home against SIU-Edwardsville (Dec. 16), Xavier (Dec. 21) and UIC (Dec. 31).

IU will kickoff its 16-game Big Ten schedule with a road contest at Michigan on Jan. 3 and will return home for back-to-back games in Bloomington against Northwestern (Jan. 6) and Nebraska (Jan. 10). The Hoosiers then head to Buckeye country to take on Ohio State on Jan. 17.

Assembly Hall will then be the site of Indiana's next two matchups against Michigan State on Jan. 20 and Michigan on Jan. 24. The Hoosiers then head to Northwestern (Jan. 28) and Purdue (Jan. 31) to wrap up the month of January.

On Sunday, Feb. 3, IU will have a rematch with Ohio State in Assembly Hall before Penn State arrives in Bloomington on Feb. 7 for their only meeting with the Hoosiers this season. Two more road games take place on Feb. 10 at Wisconsin and Feb. 13 at Michigan State prior to a weekend off before hosting in-state rival Purdue on Feb. 20. Indiana will end the 2012-13 regular season at Illinois (Feb. 23) and at Iowa (Feb. 28), before hosting Senior Day on Sunday, March 3 against Minnesota.

The Big Ten is entering into the first of a four-year agreement that will rotate the Big Ten Women's Basketball Tournament between Hoffman Estates, Ill. and Indianapolis, Ind. The 2013 tournament will take place at the Sears Centre Arena for the first time in the event's history on March 7-10.
