Big Ten, Hoosiers Finalize Times for 2006-07 Women's Basketball Schedule|

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Big Ten Conference has announced the 2006-07 women's basketball tip off times, while Indiana has also finalized its non-conference home slate. The Hoosiers will host 16 games, including two exhibition contests, in Assembly Hall.
Indiana opens the season with a pair of exhibition games in Bloomington, Nov. 3 against Indianapolis at 7 p.m. (ET) and Nov. 6 against Northern Kentucky at 7 p.m. The Hoosiers officially open the home slate of the regular season schedule against Valparaiso on Nov. 15 at 7 p.m.
"I am thrilled for our home court opportunities," first year head coach Felisha Legette-Jack said. "This is going to give our community and our fans a great opportunity to be our sixth person."
The Big Ten schedule has also been finalized with times and includes a pair of televised games. Indiana opens league action at Michigan State on Dec. 28 at 7 p.m., and hosts Michigan on Dec. 31 at 2 p.m. The television portion of the schedule features the Hoosiers at Purdue on Jan. 14 with a 3 p.m. tip off, and at Minnesota on Feb. 11 (1 p.m.) on Comcast SportsNet Chicago.
The IU schedule features home and home series with Illinois, Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, Purdue and Wisconsin. Big Ten teams appearing only once on the schedule are: Iowa (Bloomington, Jan. 11 at 7 p.m.), Northwestern (Bloomington, Feb. 22 at 7 p.m.), Ohio State (Columbus, Jan. 25 at 7 p.m.) and Penn State (University Park, Feb. 25 at 2 p.m.).
"We are excited about the opportunity to be apart of such a fantastic conference," Legette-Jack said. "The challenge will be great, the competitiveness will be intense and it will reveal our character as a team. We are excited for this opportunity."
CSN Chicago will also air nine games of the 2007 Big Ten Tournament (March 1-5) during the opening, quarterfinal and semifinal rounds, with seven of those contests aired live. The Big Ten Tournament championship game will be shown live on ESPN2 at 7 p.m. on March 5.
