BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - IU head women's basketball coach Felisha Legette-Jack has announced the addition of walk-on junior Andrea Wensits to the 2010-11 Hoosier roster.

Wensits, a 6-3 forward from Appleton, Wis., joins the Hoosiers after spending the 2009 and 2010 seasons on the IU rowing team, where she earned Second Team All-Big Ten and Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) Division I First Team All-Central Region honors in 2010. She was one of 60 student-athletes to be honored by the CRCA, and was the third IU rower to earn the accolade (Laura Lazaridis-2005, 2006; Ellie Benson-2008, 2009).

The Psychology major also received 2010 Academic All-Big Ten, CRCA National Scholar-Athlete and Big Ten Distinguished Scholar honors.

"Andrea comes to us from the rowing team where she earned Second Team All-Big Ten honors and was on a great pace to be an Olympic rower, " said Legette-Jack. "Andrea joining our team says a lot about who we are as a program and what IU women's basketball has to offer a student-athlete that has already achieved success at Indiana University. She can only help us get better and we welcome her to our Hoosier family."

Wensits lettered in swimming and basketball at Appleton North High School and earned honorable mention honors in swimming. She joined the IU rowing team as a Novice rower her freshman year and earned a spot on the Varsity crew as a sophomore.
