HOOSIERS OPEN SEASON WITH PAIR OF EXHIBITION GAMES
The Indiana Hoosiers open the 2006-07 season with a pair of exhibition games, beginning with the University of Indianapolis. IU will wrap up the exhibition schedule on Monday, Nov. 6 with a 7:05 p.m. tip off against Northern Kentucky.

    WHAT'S COMING UP
The Hoosiers open the regular season on the road against Wake Forest at the fifth annual Women's Sports Foundation Classic on Friday, Nov. 10, hosted by the University of Kentucky at Memorial Coliseum in Lexington.

This year's tournament also features 2006 NCAA participant Kentucky and Washington State on the other side of the bracket. Last season, Temple defeated Michigan, 65-48, in the championship game of the traveling tournament, which was hosted by the University of Oregon in Eugene.

TRIO OF CAPTAINS TO LEAD HOOSIERS THIS SEASON
Indiana will be led by a trio of captains in senior Leah Enterline, junior Nikki Smith and sophomore Whitney Thomas.

Enterline represented Indiana on the Big Ten Foreign Tour Team, July 18-28. She averaged 6.8 points, 3.0 assists and 1.3 steals as the all-star squad went 4-0 on the 11-day trip through Denmark, Norway and Sweden. Smith returns as IU's leading scorer after averaging 7.2 points per game during the 2005-06 season. The 5-9 shooting guard also shot a team-high 58 three-pointers and .356 (58-163) from beyond the arc. Thomas averaged 6.1 points and a team-high 7.2 rebounds per game last season earning Big Ten All-Freshman honors.

LEGETTE-JACK BEGINS A NEW ERA OF INDIANA WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
First-year IU head coach Felisha Legette-Jack and her staff of Cherie Hogg, Vera Jones and Marc Wilson bring 30 years of coaching experience to the Hoosiers that include stops along the way in the ACC, Atlantic-10, Big Ten, BIG EAST, MAC and Mountain West, to name a few.

Legette-Jack spent the last four years turning Hofstra into a postseason contender, earning Colonial Athletic Association Women's Basketball Coach of the Year honors in 2003-04. In her fourth season leading the Pride, she guided Hofstra to 19 wins and a school-record 12 league wins, culminating in a Women's National Invitation Tournament appearance in 2005-06.

Legette-Jack also brings a wealth of experience from two USA Basketball gold medal-winning coaching staffs that included Duke head coach Gail Goestenkors and Ohio State head coach Jim Foster.

INDIANA WELCOMES TALENTED GROUP OF NEWCOMERS TO ROSTER THIS YEAR
Indiana welcomes a class of four newcomers, which is highlighted by a pair of 2006 Gatorade Players of the Year in Shanice Billington (Hartford, Conn.) and Jamie Braun (Marshfield, Wis.), in their respective states.

Billington, a McDonald's High School All-America nominee, led Bulkeley High School to a 26-1 record and its first-ever state title in 2006. She averaged 16.2 points per game and 3.5 assists per game during her senior campaign. Braun, a 2006 first team all-state selection according to the Associated Press and Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association, averaged 18.6 points, 5.0 assists and 3.0 steals per game as a senior.
