BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana women's basketball team will welcome 30 cadets at halftime of the Hoosiers' contest against Ball State, in the first round of the Preseason WNIT, for the IU Army ROTC Contracting Ceremony on Friday, Nov. 14. Tip-off against the Cardinals is set for 7 p.m. ET in Assembly Hall.

Contracting is a big event for an Army ROTC because it officially marks each cadet's commitment to complete officer development training and commission as a Second Lieutenant in the US Army, with subsequent service to their country for a period of eight total years.

After learning that IU Army ROTC was awarded the best program in the nation, Indiana head women's basketball coach Felisha Legette-Jack graciously offered to support the program by hosting the contracting ceremony during a game.

"We are thrilled to have the IU Army ROTC program honor their cadets during halftime of the Ball State game," said Legette-Jack. "Our young women have had a chance to experience a portion of their training and we not only have a tremendous amount of respect for the hard work that these men and women do day in and day out, but we are also thankful that they have welcomed our team into their lives. Our staff and players would like to congratulate the 30 cadets that will be honored and are humbled to have them as a part of the Indiana Women's Basketball family."
