THE OPENING TIP
The Hoosiers open the 2010-11 regular season at Ball State on Friday, Nov. 12, at 7 p.m. ET. Friday's game will be a tape-delay broadcast, following the IU men's basketball game vs. Florida Gulf Coast at 6:30 p.m., on WHCC 105.1 FM with Jeremy Gray on the call.
IU head coach Felisha Legette-Jack is in her fifth year at Indiana with an overall mark of 126-119. She is a 72-56 at the Hoosier helm. Ball State head coach Kelly Packard is in her third season with a 40-26 record.
LAST TIME OUT
Five Hoosiers reached double-digit points as the Indiana women's basketball team ended exhibition play with a 76-41 win over the University of Indianapolis in Assembly Hall on Saturday, Nov. 4.
Senior All-America candidate Jori Davis led IU with 16 points and nine rebounds. Senior Hope Elam scored 15 points off the bench, and sophomore Aulani Sinclair, juniors Danilsa Andujar and Alisha Goodwin each netted 11 points apiece in the win.
Davis made 7-of-11 from the field and added three assists and two steals. Elam sank 5-of-9 from the floor, including two 3-pointers. Lindsay recorded seven assists and four steals.
The Hoosiers held the Greyhounds to just 27.1 percent (13-of-48) shooting from the floor and forced 25 turnovers, while outrebounding UIndy, 40-38.
WHAT'S COMING UP
The Hoosiers will open the home slate when they play host to St. Bonaventure on Monday, Nov. 15 at 7 p.m. ET in Assembly Hall. The game against the Bonnies opens a two-game home stand that includes a Nov. 18 game against Memphis at 7 p.m.
NOTES OF INTEREEST
Friday's meeting marks the 31st in IU's all-time series with Ball State, and its second visit to Worthen Arena in three years after opening the 2008-09 season in Muncie.
IU is 4-0 in season openers under Felisha Legette-Jack and 3-1 in road-openers.
Head coach Felisha Legette-Jack is three wins shy of her 75th victory as the leader of the Indiana program.
SCOUTING THE CARDINALS
The Cardinals defeated St. Joseph's college 105-56 in exhibition action Nov. 5. Every player in uniform scored for the Cardinals with senior forward Emily Maggert leading the way with a double-double performance which included 17 points and 11 rebounds. Ball State had four other Cardinals reach double figures, Suzanne Grossnickle and Ebony Jackson with 13 points apiece while true freshmen Jordan Huber chipped in 12 and Jazmin Hitchens had 10.
In 2009-10, Ball State ended with a 14-17 overall record a 7-9 mark in the Mid-America Conference. THe Cardinals were led by Maggert with 17.0 points and 10.6 rebounds per game.
Indiana leads the all-time series with Ball State, 27-3, and has won the last 19 meetings. The Hoosiers are 7-2 all-time while facing the Cardinals in Muncie.

DAVIS READY FOR SENIOR YEAR
All-America candidate Jori Davis enters her senior campaign after averaging 16.7 points, 6.4 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.5 steals per game to earn Second Team All-Big Ten honors from the league's coaches and media as a junior. She is currently ranked 19th all-time in scoring with 1,021 career points after becoming the 22nd Hoosier to enter the 1,000 Point Club in 2009-10.
LINDSAY PROVES HER WORTH AT POINT
After a successful season sharing point guard duties with graduating senior Jamie Braun in 2009-10, senior Whitney Lindsay continued to prove her worth at that position with 11 assists and nine steals in the Hoosiers' two exhibition games. She also averaged 8.5 points in the two wins against Alaska Anchorage and Indianapolis.
2010-11 TEAM CAPTAINS
Seniors Jori Davis, Whitney Lindsay and Andrea McGuirt will be the 2010-11 team captains. The three seniors were a part of Legette-Jack's first recruiting class at Indiana University and have served key roles as Hoosiers.
HOME SWEET HOME
The Hoosiers will play 14 games in Assembly Hall this season, beginning with St. Bonaventure at 7 p.m. ET on Monday, Nov. 15. IU's home schedule is highlighted by future Big Ten opponent Nebraska as the Huskers visit Bloomington to take on IU in the inaugural Big Ten/Big 12 Challenge on Sunday, Dec. 5 at Noon ET. The Hoosiers' battle with the Huskers will be broadcast live on the Big Ten Network. Head coach Felisha Legette-Jack is 41-17 in Assembly Hall since the 2006-07 season, winning 70.7 percent of her games in Bloomington.
