Nov. 10, 2011
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana head women's basketball coach Felisha Legette-Jack announced on Thursday the signing of two 2012 recruits to national letters of intent to play at IU as the November signing period takes place. The new Hoosiers are Haley Videckis out of Barlett High School in Bartlett, Ill. and Brittany Webb, a senior out of Heritage Christian High School in Indianapolis.
Videckis, a 6-0 Bartlett High School senior, led the Hawks to a 28-2 record during the 2010-11 season while averaging 10.4 points and 3.3 rebounds per game. She led the team in 3-point field goals made connecting on 41 during her junior campaign. Videckis is a two-time All-Upstate Eight Conference selection and a two-time Daily Herald All-Area player.
"Haley is a fantastic student-athlete who can absolutely shoot from long distance," Legette-Jack said. "Her upside is immeasurable. I love our future with Haley as a part of it. I am so glad she will be a Hoosier."
Webb, a senior point guard at Heritage Christian High School, averaged 14.7 points, 3.6 assists and 1.9 steals per game during her junior year, leading her squad to an 18-5 record. Webb is ranked as the No. 123 point guard in the country according to ESPNHoopGurlz.com. She was a part of the 2009 Eagle team who won the IHSAA Class 1A State Championship and finished the season with a 26-1 record, and as a sophomore helped Heritage Christian to a sectional championship.
"I would love to schedule the 122 point guards that are ahead of this competitive Hoosier," Legette-Jack said. "I think that she would fare quite well. I love the fact that Brittany's dream school is IU. She is a pure point guard who is tough as nails. I am so glad she will be a Hoosier as she has been one her entire life."
