Indiana continues Preseason WNIT action when it hosts No. 22 Xavier in the second round of the tournament on Sunday, Nov. 16 in Assembly Hall. Tip-off against the Musketeers is set for 2 p.m. ET, with the game being broadcast live on WHCC 105.1 as Jeremy Gray will call the action from Bloomington.

If the Hoosiers win the second round of the Preseason WNIT, Indiana will play the winner of the North Carolina-VCU game, possibly playing at either away or at home on Wednesday, Nov. 19 with a time to be determined. If the Hoosiers fall in game two, Indiana will either host or travel to play one more game on Nov. 21 or 22, with a time to be determined.

The Hoosiers lead the all-time series with Xavier, 1-0, with a lone meeting during the 1997-98 season where IU topped the Musketeers, 80-74, in Bloomington, in the Postseason WNIT. IU enters the second round after defeating Ball State, 84-68, in Assembly Hall on Friday, Nov. 14.

The Hoosiers shot 51 percent from the field and put four scorers in double figures on March 13, 1998 in the first round of the Postseason WNIT. Quacy Barnes led IU with 18 points on a perfect 8-of-8 shooting from the floor. Dani Thrush contributed with 17 points, while Kirsti Green added 14 and Rachel Honegger 11. Cindy Kerns just missed a triple-double with eight points, eight assists and 10 rebounds.

Indiana's invitation to the preseason event marks the first since the 1998-99 season when the Hoosiers went 2-2 with wins over Cincinnati (Nov. 13; 61-51) and Missouri State (Nov. 15; 63-60), before falling to Rutgers in the third round, 60-53, on Nov. 19. The Hoosiers then lost to Florida in the consolation game, 72-67, on Nov. 20.

IU head coach Felisha Legette-Jack is in her third year at the helm of the Hoosier program with a career mark of 92-92 over seven seasons. She led the Hoosiers to the back-to-back postseason berths in the WNIT and an 18-15 mark in 2007-08.

Xavier head coach Kevin McGuff enters his seventh season heading the Musketeer program with a career mark of 131-59. He led XU to a repeat A-10 title last season, a trip to the NCAA tourney and 24 wins.

Not only did the Hoosiers add some much-needed height to the roster, but it added a little breathing room for seniors Whitney Thomas and Amber Jackson in the paint.

Last season, Thomas and Jackson each averaged just over 31 minutes per game. Now IU's pair of veteran posts can look to bench for some assistance from freshmen Sasha Chaplin and Danilsa Andujar. Chaplin and Andujar combined for 18 minutes of quality time on the court, along with eight rebounds. Chaplin also netted 11 points in her first collegiate game, and added two steals.

•Sunday's meeting marks just the second all-time between Indiana and Xavier.
    • With Saturday's win, the Hoosiers are 26-9 since the 1974-75 season in home-openers.
    • The last time IU met XU was the 1998 Postseason WNIT Tournament.
    • In Saturday's win vs. Ball State, the Hoosiers posted six players in double-digits.
Felisha Legette-Jack recorded her 92nd career win as a head coach and her 38th at the helm of the Hoosier program.
