Legette-Jack Inks Three to 2008-09 Indiana Women's Basketball Roster
Nov. 26, 2007
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana head women's basketball coach Felisha Legette-Jack has announced the signing of three players for the 2008-09 roster with Danilsa Andujar, Sasha Chaplin and Lindsay Enterline.
"We feel that this recruiting class is a class that's going to help us continue to get better inside," Legette-Jack said. "I think we're going to get even more character kids here. We have a great team already and this is going to add to it."
Andujar, a 6-2 forward, comes to IU from Dillard High School in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. During her junior season, Andujar averaged 6.1 points and 5.5 rebounds per game. She helped Dillard win a County Big-8 title, and earn runner-up honors at the Peach State Classic, in District 5A at the regional quarterfinal. Andujar earned All-Broward Honorable Mention honors as a sophomore and junior. A native of the Dominican Republic, Andujar was a member of the junior national team in 2006.
"Danilsa is a kid that is a strong, confrontational kind of post player, a back-to-the-basket kind of post player," Legette-Jack said. "She just knew what she wanted. She decided on only a few schools that were going to recruit her and she let us in on the fact that she liked that we were a character staff and team. She will be a great addition to Amber (Jackson) on the low block because she is so strong. She knows how to work in small quarters, and we know that she is a wonderful rebounder as well."
Chaplin, a 6-3 forward from St. Petersburg Catholic High School in St. Petersburg, Fla., was an all-state first team selection as a junior. She averaged 17.9 points, 14.8 rebounds, three blocks and two steals per game as a junior, earning first team all-Suncoast and first team all-county honors. Chaplin was a co-captain in 2006-07 and named her team's Most Valuable Player after setting a school record with 31 rebounds in the district championship game.
"Sasha Chaplin is a 6-3 post player that can step out and hit the 3 and take the ball off the dribble and take it to the basket," Legette-Jack said. "But what makes her really fantastic for us is that she is a wonderful rebounder and a great student."
Enterline, the younger sister of former Hoosier point guard Leah Enterline, is a 6-0 forward from Monroeville, Ind. She averaged 13.0 points, 4.8 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.3 steals per game at Heritage High School her sophomore year. She was named to the 2007 Indiana Junior All-Star team.
"Lindsay Enterline is a great 3-point shooter, slasher and post player," Legette-Jack said. "We love her wingspan. We think she is going to be a great addition for our match-up defense. Lindsay also runs the floor very well."
