    HOOSIERS DEFEAT STETSON

Bloomington, Ind.--Five Hoosiers scored in double figures as Indiana advanced to the championship game of the Indiana Full-O-Pep Classic for the 10th time in 11 years with a 91-43 victory over Stetson.

Sophomore Tara Jones led the Hoosiers with 17 points as she connected on nine of ten free-throws. Sophomore Heather Cassady and junior Rachael Honegger both tallied 15 points and freshman Erika Christenson added 13.

Junior Rainey Alting added seven points, eight rebounds and nine assists. Freshman Jill Hartman tallied 11 points and pulled down nine rebounds.

"I was pleased with the effort on both ends of the floor. Defensively we got down on the floor and took things away. Offensively we pushed the ball in the transition. We had some players settle down for this game. We had two tough games in our first two games and I think that helped us tonight," Indiana head coach Jim Izard said.

The Hoosiers held Stetson to 24.0 percent from the field. They went on a 17-0 run late in the first half as they held Stetson scoreless for 8:46 to open up a 40-16 halftime lead. Christenson gave the Hoosiers a lift in the first half with six points in just seven minutes of action.

Indiana closed out the game with a 15-0 run led by six points from Jones.

The Hoosiers will face the winner of the IUPUI/East Carolina contest tomorrow in the championship game at 8 p.m.
