    Hoosiers Open Three-Game Road Trip at Notre Dame on Sunday

    BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana women's basketball team open a three-game road trip on Sunday, Dec. 3, as they face the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

    Four scored in double-figures as the Hoosiers (6-1) improved to 3-0 in Assembly Hall with an 83-80 win over Evansville on Thursday, Nov. 30. Senior Sarah McKay led IU with 19 points on 9-of-10 shooting from the field and three blocked shots. Senior Leah Enterline added 16 points with three from beyond the arc, junior Nikki Smith scored 15 points and sophomore Kim Roberson provided 11 points in the win. Sophomore Whitney Thomas posted a career high with 14 rebounds as the Hoosiers won the battle of the boards, 40-36.

    Indiana shot 52.8 percent (28-of-53) from the floor on the night and held the Purple Aces to 38.7 percent (24-of-62) shooting. IU has held its opponents to less than 40.0 percent shooting from the field in five of its seven games.

    The Hoosiers have also had at least four players score in double-figures in five of their seven games this season. Indiana recorded back-to-back games with five players scoring in double-figures (11/15 vs. Valparaiso; 11/19 vs. Dayton), including a game- and career-high 28 points from McKay against Dayton.

    Notre Dame (5-2) posted its first road victory of the season with a 61-58 win over Michigan on Friday, Dec. 1. Three scored in double-figures for the Fighting Irish as Charel Allen scored a game-high 15 points. Ashley Barlow added 14 points and a team-best seven rebounds, while Tulyah Gaines added 11 points and three steals in the win. Notre Dame scored 23 points off the Wolverines 30 turnover.

    UND is led by Allen with 15.7 points per game. Barlow is right behind her with 11.0 points, while Gaines is averaging 10.6 points per game. Erica Williamson is leading Notre Dame on the boards with 6.2 rebounds per game. UND is currently shooting 42.7 percent (182-of-426) from the field as a team.

    Notre Dame leads the all-time series, 6-3, after winning last season's meeting, 61-74, on Nov. 23, 2005, in Bloomington. This year's meeting marks IU's first trip to the Joyce Center since Dec. 11, 1996, when the Hoosiers suffered a 71-63 loss to UND.

    The Hoosiers are 2-2 in the Joyce Center and 1-4 against the Fighting Irish in Assembly Hall. The last time IU won at UND was on Dec. 6, 1990, when the Hoosiers brought home a 79-76 triumph.
