CHAPMAN NAMED CO-BIG TEN PLAYER OF THE WEEK

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana women's basketball player Jill Chapman has been named Co-Big Ten Player of the Week, the conference office announced Monday. Chapman shares the honor with Purdue's Camille Cooper.

Chapman, a native of Montpelier, helped lead the Hoosiers (3-3) to a 72-52 victory over Ball State Dec. 4, in the Big Four Classic.

The 6-5 center scored a career-high 35 points while also hauling down a career-best 21 rebounds, just missing the school scoring (40 pts.) and rebounding (22 rbs.) records. Against the Cardinals, the sophomore connected on 14-18 shots from the field (78 percent).

Earlier in the week, Chapman had 16 points in the Hoosiers' 74-54 loss at Vanderbilt. For the week, she averaged 25.5 points and 12.5 rebounds while shooting 58 percent from the field.

This season she leads the Hoosiers, averaging 17 points and 8.8 rebounds per game.
