No. 24 Indiana Falls at No. 6 Penn State

State College, Pa. – The No. 24 Indiana field hockey team opened up Big Ten Conference play with a 7-1 setback this afternoon to the No. 6-ranked Penn State Nittany Lions.
The Hoosiers (5-2) fired nine shots in the contest with five on goal. Morgan Fleetwood converted on one of those attempts to tally IU’s lone score on the day.
Maggie Olson is dealt the loss and falls to 1-2 on the year.
The home team jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the first minute of play and proceeded to net six additional unanswered goals until Fleetwood managed to put her squad on the board with an unassisted goal in the 65th minute.
Indiana will be back in action this Sunday, Sept. 23 when it plays Lockwood University at Noon ET.
