Lock Haven, Pa. – The No. 24-ranked Indiana field hockey team rallied and overcame a 1-0 deficit in its 2-1 road victory over Lock Haven this afternoon to improve to 6-2 on the season.

Both teams remained scoreless through the first half of regulation before Lock Haven netted the go-ahead in the 47th minute of play. The Hoosiers did not hesitate in their response, as Mariella Grote put one between the posts after deflecting a ball from Morgan Fleetwood.

With regulation winding down and the game deadlocked at one goal apiece, freshman Rachel Stauffer tallied her first career score in the 68th minute to give her team its first lead in the contest. IU managed to maintain its one goal advantage and close out the weekend with a win.

Maggie Olson started in net for Indiana, but Viki Green would get credited with the win after checking in after the first half. Green made four saves in net and improves to 5-0 on the year.

The Hoosiers will return to action on Friday, Sept. 28 when they head to East Lansing, Mich. to take on Big Ten opponent, Michigan State. Game time is slated for 3 p.m. EST.
