Field Hockey Suffers 3-0 Loss At No. 17 Louisville

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana field hockey team closed out the weekend with a 3-0 loss on the road to No. 17 Louisville this afternoon. The Hoosiers fall to 6-5 on the season, while the Cardinals improve to 10-2 overall.
The Hoosiers managed to connect on just six shots in the contest with four on goal. Mariella Grote accrued half of those shots and fired two of which at the cage, while Audra Heilman and Karen Lorite also tallied one shot on goal apiece.
Maggie Olson made eight saves in net, the second-most in a single game for the redshirt-junior this season.
Louisville took a 1-0 advantage in the 18th minute of the game and maintained its lead throughout the remainder of the game.
Just 31 seconds after the break at the half, the Cardinals netted its second goal from the left side of the circle to take a 2-0 lead, and a goal at 66:25 pushed the home team ahead to the eventual final of 3-0.
Indiana will return to action Friday, Oct. 11 at Iowa. Game time is set for 4 p.m. ET.
