No. 15 Indiana Falls to No. 6 Penn State, 6-2

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The No. 15 Indiana field hockey team suffered a tough 6-2 loss to No. 6 Penn State on Friday, Oct. 7 in Bloomington.
The Nittany Lions (10-3, 3-0) came out firing in the first half, scoring three goals in the second, 11th and 27th minutes to take a 3-0 lead into halftime. The Hoosiers (7-4, 1-2) countered early in the second half as Morgan Fleetwood netted a goal in the 46th minute as she scored off a deflected shot to cut Penn State's lead to 3-1. Then in the 56th minute, Danielle McNally scored on a ball that was deflected from a shot by Brenna Moeljadi to bring the Hoosiers within one, 3-2.
However, Penn State recovered and answered with three straight goals for the 6-2 win.
The Nittany Lions outshot the Hoosiers, 20-14, but the two teams were even on penalty corners at 5 apiece.
Fleetwood led Indiana with four shots, two on goal and one goal. Jaclyn Zamudio tallied three shots, two on goal, and Moeljadi recorded two shots on goal and one assist. McNally took two shots and had one goal.
Indiana returns to action on Sunday, Oct. 9, when it plays host to Michigan State on Senior Day at 1 p.m. ET. Sunday's game will be streamed live on BTN.com and will be tape-delayed on the BTN at 4 p.m. ET.
