Hoosiers Fall 4-0 at No. 9 Northwestern

Evanston, Ill. - The Indiana field hockey team suffered a 4-0 loss at the hands of host Northwestern University this afternoon. The loss drops the Hoosiers to 7-6 on the season and 0-4 in Big Ten action, while the No. 9-ranked Wildcats improve to 13-3 (3-1 B1G).
IU was outshot 14-5 in the contest, firing one lone attempt on goal. Emily Bowker, Audra Heilman, Mariella Grote and Morgan Fleetwood each tallied a shot against NU, with Bowker serving as the lone Hoosier to direct one at the net.
Viki Green (5-4) played all 70 minutes in goal and made six saves in the loss.
Northwestern struck first in the 23rd minute of play after tapping one through the posts on a loose ball in front of the net. The Wildcats doubled their lead eight minutes later and eventually scored its third and fourth goals in the 55th and 59th minute, respectively.
The Hoosiers will remain in Evanston and play a non-conference tilt with Central Michigan tomorrow, Oct. 13 at 2 p.m. EST
