BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana field hockey team suffered a 2-0 setback to No. 11 Northwestern this afternoon, dropping the Hoosiers to 0-4 in Big Ten play and 7-7 overall.

IU was outshot by the Wildcats 16-2, with shots by Sydney Supica and Karen Lorite. The Hoosiers drew one penalty corner, coming in the first half.

Maggie Olson had a busy day in the goal, as she saved eight shots, including seven of those saves in the second half. Olson leads the Big Ten with 30 saves in four conference games for a 7.50 average per game. The next closest is Sarah Lemieux of Ohio State with 19 saves in three games for a 6.33 average.

Both of the Wildcats goals were scored in the first half and both by Nikki Parsley, who ranks fifth in the Big Ten in points.

“I felt like we played well, but we made some mistakes,” IU head coach Amy Robertson said. “I’m not disappointed in our effort and how we fought. I think we continue to take steps to move forward.”

Up next the Hoosiers host Rutgers on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. at the IUFH Complex.
