IU Field Hockey Falls to No. 11 Iowa, 3-2, in Big Ten Tournament

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. - Despite a late come-back, the Indiana field hockey team's season fell short to No. 11 Iowa, 3-2, in first round of the Big Ten Tournament. Audra Heilman scored the Hoosiers' first goal and Morgan Fleetwood scored IU's second goal.
The Hoosiers (9-8) fell behind early, as the Hawkeyes (15-3) got on the board in the second minute with a goal from Kelsey Mitchell. Iowa took a 2-0 lead on a goal from Jessica Barnett in the ninth minute. Indiana cut Iowa's lead in half as Heilman took the ball in the middle of the circle and scored through traffic to bring the Hoosiers' within one, 2-1, in the 16th minute.
The score stood at 2-1 at the break, but the Hawkeyes increased their advantage to 3-1 in the 40th minute as Barnett netted her second goal of the game. Indiana fought back and maintained possession in the last 15 minutes of the game with Fleetwood scoring in the 61st minute as she took a shot across the right side of the circle to the left corner of the goal. But it wasn't enough as IU fell to Iowa, 3-2.
Fleetwood led the Hoosiers with five shots, four on goal, for one goal. Brenna Moeljadi recorded three shots and assisted on Fleetwood's goal. Nicole Volgraf took three shots, two on goal. Jaclyn Zamudio took two shots on goal and Heilman tallied one shot and one goal.
Viki Green started in goal for Indiana and recorded six saves in 70:00 minutes.
The Hoosiers outshot the Hawkeyes, 16-11, and earned eight penalty corners to Iowa's four.
